‘Iyengar Yoga Workshops’

Building Resilience with Iyengar Yoga

SATURDAY OCTOBER 29, 10:30AM-1:00PM, AED250

Guruji BKS Iyengar says, “Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”

So there is this two fold approach to practise. There are certainly asanas to work on and develop. By practising regularly and going past our physical and mental limitations we see changes. Physical and mental affiliations lessen, we feel a sense of vibrancy and confidence. The second balancing aspect of the practice is to have a sense of contentment and acceptance. There are some things in life that cannot be changed through will and effort. Instead of being frustrated, the practice teaches us an inner resilience to stay with discomfort.

In this two hour workshop we will look at asanas both challenging and restorative and how we can use the practice of Iyengar Yoga to be better at meeting life.
